All too often, you get locations in the city and elsewhere closed because someone is filming a movie.
Now, the way they try to justify this is that such movie making contributes to the economy ...
OK, so we have a more active economy, and ideally, we are more wealthy because of it. So, being more wealthy, we travel to the city so we can enjoy our extra wealth that the nice economy has passed onto us. And we find we cannot enjoy our wealth because we are denied access to public spaces.
Point is, just because something is "good for the economy" does not mean its good. Car accidents could be said to be "good for the economy".
