During the visit to Woomera, I was able to visit the site of the original WRESAT launches.
WRESAT was the first nominally Australian satellite launched from Australia. During that period,
there were a set of joint Anglo-Australia launches, but for WRESAT, the Australians basically
"did their own thing" with the UK providing the money.
